StarCraft · PC · 1998 · Cheat Code
Effect: Grants invulnerability (god mode) to all of the player’s own units and structures.
Blizzard salted StarCraft’s campaign cheats with in-jokes that its own developers, several of them named in the credits, slipped past QA. "power overwhelming" makes your forces indestructible; "show me the money" drops 10,000 minerals and gas; and "operation cwal" builds and trains everything at absurd speed — CWAL standing for "Can’t Wait Any Longer", the name of a fan community that had grown impatient during the game’s repeatedly delayed development. The codes only work offline, deliberately walled off from Battle.net so they could never poison competitive multiplayer, which is precisely why StarCraft went on to become the national esport of South Korea untainted by the cheats baked into its own disc.
